多益新制聽力「圖表整合題」考題：解題步驟與實戰演練

2018年TOEIC多益改制後，聽力第三部分(簡短對話)與第四部份(簡短獨白)各增加了2至3題的「圖表整合題」新題型。這種新題型考驗學員「聽讀整合」的能力。許多正在準備多益考試的學員，經常很困惑「圖表整合題」會怎麼考，以及他們該如何回答「圖表整合題」這種新題型。在本篇文章中，我們將先分析「圖表整合題」的解題步驟與實戰演練。

在了解「圖表整合題」的類型之後，在實際多益聽力考試中，我們該怎麼做才能提高答對「圖表整合題」的機會呢？我們建議以下的解題步驟：

Step 1：事先閱讀題目

與舊制多益相同，在聽對話或獨白之前，事先閱讀題目可以幫助我們預測對話或獨白的主題，並且將注意力集中在與問題相關的資訊上。針對「圖表整合題」，學員需要先快速瀏覽過圖表，判斷需要專心聽的重點。

Step 2：盡可能聽懂主題

當對話或獨白開始後，盡可能快速掌握主題或大意。例如簡短對話，快速掌握對話者的談話主題。簡短獨白，則快速掌握廣告的商品或服務，或者電話留言者的來電目的。掌握這些主題或大意，將有助於我們理解「圖表整合題」的脈絡。

Step 3：利用題目順序預測「圖表整合題」相關資訊出現的位置

與舊制多益相同，新制多益題目的順序大致對應聽力內容的順序。舉例來說，如果「圖表整合題」出在題組的第二題，然後我們已經聽到第一題的答案，那我們就必須專心聽接下來的內容。

Step 4：根據聽力內容回答「圖表整合題」

在預測需要專心聽的內容之後，我們終究還是要利用我們耳朵「聽音辨字」的能力，幫助我們聽到正確的答案。為了培養「聽音辨字」的能力，我們鼓勵學員勤做聽力練習(不管是模擬考題或其它聽力練習)，並且利用聽力文字稿，分析自己聽不懂一段話的原因(也許是字彙、腔調、速度、發音現象如「連音」或「削弱音」)，並且做相關的練習。

說明這些解題技巧後，讓我們討論下面第三部分簡短對話的例題：

聽力稿：

Questions 1 through 3 refer to the following conversation with three speakers and the list.

M1: Mr. Foster, you really need to look at the problems we’re having with the apartment.
W: That’s right! Have you read the list of problems I sent you last week?
M2: I’m sorry. I just got back from vacation last night. What problems did you find?
W: My ceiling drips water when it rains, and the garbage disposal doesn’t work.
M1: And my toilet is constantly backed up. Jeff, who lives next door, said that there are rats in his room!
M2: I’m really sorry about that. I’ll have the repairman take a look at your problems this afternoon.

首先根據「圖表整合題」的題目，在聽對話前，我們可以預測這個對話的主題或許與住處問題有關。接下來，「圖表整合題」是第二題，所以當我們聽到第一題的答案 (Have you read the list of problems I sent you last week?)之後，我們就需要集中注意力準備第二題。女子提到她房間的天花板下雨時滴水(my ceiling drips water when it rains)，所以我們得知她的房間是403。值得一提的是，多益聽力的正確選項通常不會使用跟聽力內容一樣的文字，而是使用「轉述詞」。在這個題目中，圖表裡的leaky roof是my ceiling drips water的「轉述詞」。此外，錯誤選項通常會使用聽力內容的其它資訊，例如201房的Clogged toilet(馬桶阻塞)，是M1所提到的my toilet is constantly backed up，而202房的critter problem(動物問題)，是另一個房客Jeff家的狀況(there are rats in his room)。學員在聽對話時，需要仔細分辨這些不同的內容，才能答對這題「圖表整合題」。

W: Hey, Dennis. This is Tanya. I’m calling to tell you that I won’t be able to come in for the meeting this afternoon. A pile-up on Highway 65 has caused serious backups and I’ve been stuck here for almost an hour. So I’ll just meet Norman at the client’s place. He’ll give me a ride back to the office. By the way, can you print out your home selling proposal for Mr. Laurens and place it on my desk? Before you meet him tonight, I’d like to discuss those graphs you made. Thanks.

「圖表整合題」問說話者何時會回到辦公室，因此我們必須把注意力放在外出的Collin、Tanya，以及Norman上。獨白一開始我們知道說話的人是Tanya，所以我們這時的預測是她下午一點會回辦公室。可是她稍後提到她路上遇到塞車(第一題的答案)，以及她要搭Norman的車一起回辦公室，這時我們就可以確定這一題是「資訊更正題」，也就是說她下午五點才會回辦公室，因此，「圖表整合題」的答案是(D) 5 p.m.。
